Matt Hutt is an attorney with The Virga Law Firm and is based out of the Panama City Beach location. He is a third-generation Bay Countian and was born and raised in Panama City. He and his wife graduated from Bay High School in 2001. Matt earned his Bachelor’s Degree in economics from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, and his Juris Doctor Degree from Florida Coastal School of Law. After law school, Matt spent more than a decade living and practicing law in Atlanta. Matt and his family returned home to Panama City in 2022 to enjoy the natural beauty, strong sense of community, and delicious, fresh seafood.
Matt is licensed to practice law in both Florida and Georgia. Before joining The VIrga Law Firm, he spent nearly 12 years working in bankruptcy law, primarily handling Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy cases. Over the years, he has helped thousands of clients obtain relief from stressful financial circumstances, in addition to gaining valuable experience working on personal injury and civil litigation matters. Matt’s practice with The Virga Law Firm focuses on family law representation and litigation, including dissolution of marriage, paternity, equitable distribution, custody, child support and adoptions. Matt enjoys practicing family law as it allows him to help guide clients through some of life’s most complex and emotionally challenging circumstances.
Matt makes it a point to give back to the community by supporting local causes, including the Bay County Conservancy and family-focused organizations. In his leisure time, Matt enjoys spending time with his family and friends in the woods or on the water.
