Every summer, The Virga Law Firm opens its doors to bright, driven students who want real-world experience in family law — and this year's group was no exception. Our 2026 summer internship program brought together four remarkable interns from universities across the Southeast, each bringing their own energy, curiosity, and perspective to our Panama City Beach office.

Meet the 2026 Summer Interns
This year's intern class — Alexandrea, Christi, Cameron, and Gavin — came to us from universities including the University of Florida, Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, Troy University, and the Charleston School of Law.
Each intern brought their own strengths, perspective, and academic background to the table, and together they made for a well-rounded, energetic group. Their varied paths into the legal field were a great reminder that a passion for helping families through difficult times can take root anywhere.
What Our Interns Experienced
Throughout the summer, our interns were immersed in the day-to-day work of a busy family law practice. That meant hands-on exposure to client-focused legal work, mentorship from our attorneys and staff, and a firsthand look at what it means to practice law with both compassion and relentless advocacy — the values at the heart of everything we do at The Virga Law Firm.
Beyond the substantive legal experience, our interns became part of the firm's culture. They joined team meetings, contributed fresh ideas, and got a real sense of what it's like to work at a firm that treats its people like family.
Celebrating a Summer Well Spent
No internship at The Virga Law Firm would be complete without a proper send-off. We capped off the summer with a big celebration at Rockit Lanes in Panama City Beach, complete with bowling, laughter, and heartfelt recognition for each intern's hard work. The celebration — and the internship program as a whole — was led by founding attorney Gerard Virga, with support from Mary Virga, Director of Firm Culture, Growth & Marketing. Each intern was presented with an award honoring their unique contributions to the firm throughout the summer.
It's moments like these that remind us why our internship program matters. It's not just about giving students a resume line — it's about building relationships, investing in the next generation of legal talent, and living out our commitment to community right here in our own office.
